Watchdog cuts access to DeviantArt for non-deletion of banned info
MOSCOW, Aug 4 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has limited access to DeviantArt, an online art gallery and community, as the resource repeatedly ignored the authority’s warning to delete banned materials, a watchdog spokesperson told PRIME on Wednesday.
“The administration of resource DeviantArt has again ignored the request of the communications service and failed to duly restrict access to the content dangerous mainly for children. The communications service limited access to resource DeviantArt on August 3,” the spokesperson said.
The watchdog once again asked the resource to delete the banned materials in late July under the threat of restricting access.
The authority said that starting from 2019 it has sent to DeviantArt’s administration “145 requests on the necessity of deleting the banned materials, released on the website, with child pornography, suicidal and drug-promoting content.”
